Prior to starting my psychotherapy and counseling practice, I had many years of
experience as a psychotherapist and team leader at the Veterans Administration. In
my work with combat vets from the Vietnam era up through my work with OEF/OIF
veterans, I have experienced first hand the honor, sacrifice, and bravery of our
nation's warriors. I know the impact that substance abuse, unresolved trauma, and
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder have on many of those who have served our
country, and am committed to assisting veterans and their loved ones in getting the
support and help they need to more fully and successfully integrate back into the
community.
I am also committed to working with LGBT veterans healing from homophobia and
having to serve under the painful experience of "don't ask, don't tell". As a group
facilitator for LGBT veterans, I witnessed much of the pain that comes from having
to hide who one is in the attempt to serve one's country, and help and support is
available to you here.
I am a licensed psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience working in the
mental health field. My work is solution oriented and psycho-dynamic in nature, and
filled with humor, curiosity, and compassion for others. I work relationally with
individuals, couples, children, groups, and other relationship configurations.
